OUI KNIT is a small group of knitters in the Mt. Shasta area of California, who create lacey cotton socks in the summertime and sturdy wool socks for the chill of winter. It snows here in Shasta, and one needs to keep one's feet warm! We also create hats, scarves, mittens & gloves, fruits & vegetables, and creatures! There are a lot of good knitters where we live and we do our best to keep up with them.

We sell our socks for $50 per pair, plus any shipping that might be required. We will make them custom order to fit your feet after asking you to give us some personal foot facts. If you've never worn hand made knit socks before, you're in for a treat. We've heard so often that "socks are socks," but that's simply not the case. Hand knit socks make your feet feel special, and when your feet feel special, you're walking on air and there's joy in each step! You won't want to take them off!

We use only natural fibers like wool, cotton, mohair, silk, linen and some of the newer ones like corn and bamboo. Most of our socks are fairly lightweight, especially the summer ones, but we do heavy and cozy winter socks as well, mostly wool but not exclusively so. When you think about the cost of the fibers these days, the amount of time it takes to do the knitting, and the love and care that goes into a pair of hand knit socks, you'll agree that they're worth the cost and much, much more. You'll want more than just one pair, that's for sure.
